The Navy said in a statement posted on Twitter that officials saw the video on Sunday.

Kaepernick is the former quarterback of the 49 ers of San Francisco who introduced the gesture of putting one knee on the ground during the anthem national before the matches to protest against social injustice and police brutality. He played his last game in the NFL in January 2017.

He offered his support to those who demonstrated to denounce the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis cops in May, and the NFL commissioner apologized for not listening to the concerns of the players concerning social injustice.

Videos show four dogs attacking a man, who is wearing a red Kaepernick sweater over heavily padded gear as people watch nearby. In a second video, the man is lying on the ground when approached by men in combat clothing and holding guns.

The videos were apparently posted to Instagram last year and resurfaced over the weekend.

“The message conveyed by this video is totally incompatible with the values and ethics of Naval Special Warfare and the United States Navy,” the statement said.

The Navy has revealed that according to “early indications” no active-duty personnel or equipment was used during this demonstration as part of an “independent organization event”.

The Seals Museum is located in Fort Pierce, Florida, north of West Palm Beach.
