US – Occasionally a snippet of news reaches us which for a moment makes one consider just how big the freight industry actually is. This week’s announcement from Schneider Logistics Inc., part of the Schneider National enterprise, told of the company’s 10th annual Carrier Recognition Conference in Green Bay, Wisconsin and reading between the lines one could begin to grasp the scope of the American road haulage industry.
Schneider had invited over 225 representatives from just the top 10% of the company’s contracted carriers to the event and the awards given recognised the top one per cent, the companies Schneider Logistics consider ‘the best of the best’. The awards preclude any self congratulating pats on the back as Schneider National itself is ineligible for any honours.
