Granger Smith 3 year old son River died from a drowning accident according to the country singer’s rep.
River “died in a tragic drowning accident at home,” a rep for Smith told PEOPLE in a statement.

Granger Smith and his wife Amber had to say goodbye to their youngest son River Kelly Smith, following a tragic accident.
The country singer shared the news with his social media followers Thursday afternoon.
“I have to deliver unthinkable news. We’ve lost our youngest son, River Kelly Smith. Following a tragic accident, and despite doctor’s best efforts, he was unable to be revived. Amber and I made the decision to say our last goodbyes and donate his organs so that other children will be given a second chance at life,” Granger Smith shared.
“Our family is devastated and heartbroken, but we take solace in knowing he is with his Heavenly Father,” Smith concluded.
Amber also took to social media with the devastating news.
“Riv was special. Everyone that met him knew that immediately. The joy he brought to our lives cannot be expressed and his light will be forever in our hearts, she wrote.
Smith asked that instead of sending his family flowers or gifts, to donate to Dell Children’s Medical Center in River’s name.
