Google has released the beta version of Android 11 3 today. It's only a matter of time before the public version of Android 11 is released.
If things go well, Google will release its latest public version of Android 11 in early September, apparently on September 8. However, the tech giant has not been able to deliver things on time, thanks to the Coronavirus. From the cancellation of this year's Google I / O event to the postponement of the release of the first beta of Android 11, not to mention the delay in delivering the Pixel 4a to India, it's been a bumpy ride for Google.
One can only hope that things would work out according to the original Android 11 roadmap.
What's new in Android 11 beta 3?
Given that the public launch is "coming very soon", it's no surprise that Android 11 beta 3 has minor changes and mostly contains several fixes and optimizations, but they are important nonetheless.
For example, the Exposure notification system on Android 11, used for contact tracking, apps can now run without users having to turn on the device's location settings. This would resolve some of the developers' concerns about how these apps handle privacy.
Apart from that, there's a new Easter Egg on Android 11, where turning the dial (after multiple attempts) brings up a chat emoji. Now users have to go and search for "Cat Controls" from the revamped Power menu to start a cat finder game on Android.
As for the new power menu, the power button is now all the way to the right and press to bring up some sort of full screen menu. Apart from that, there are of course several bug fixes and other small improvements.
There is not much change in the Google Beta Program That is, Android 11 Betas is still only available for the Google Pixel line (except Pixel 1) and a handful of other devices.
