Public opinion, suggestions sought till March 31

The United National Party (UNP) will obtain public opinion and suggestions to prepare a new Constitution for the Party. The UNP Executive Committee has appointed a special committee headed by former Minister, President’s Counsel Tilak Marapana, to draft a new Constitution for the Party.
The committee comprises President’s Counsels Daya Palpola and Ronald Perera as members while President’s Counsel Nishanka Nanayakkara will be the committee secretary. The Party has informed in writing to all the working committee members, district chairmen and authorised representatives as well as the chairmen and secretaries of the organizations affiliated to the party to submit their opinions and suggestions to prepare the draft new Constitution.
Committee secretary Nissanka Nanayakkara said suggestions should be forwarded to the legal section at the UNP headquarters, Sirikotha before March 31.
