Story: Unnatural starts when Dan Remington (Snow) saves his grandchildren Junior (Wilson) and Jessy (Carmicle) from a supernatural creature. He must take them to safety after their parents are killed. Elsewhere, the Colt brothers Timmy (Mahr), Nathen (McMahan) and Rex (Smith) are hunting for supernatural creatures and arrive in a town with strange stories.
Sheriff Hawken (Wells) steps in to stop the hunters from taking over. However, Dan’s appearance only makes things more complicated as Sheriff Hawken has his own secret. It leads to a bigger secret for the town and what is left for the residents to face in the future.
Verdict on Unnatural
Unnatural is a horror western following an aging gunslinger protecting his grandchildren from creatures of the night. However, his ghosts are haunting him, and other hunters want the same thing from the night. All in a town with a secret he wasn’t prepared for.
This movie takes the supernatural to a Western era and follows hunters trying to stop a problem. It brings us the reluctant protector figure facing a bigger threat too. The two sides come together nicely to give us a mix of buddy-type horror and pure supernatural horror. It has a nice mix of threats, which could easily be explored more in the future too. Al Snow makes for a compelling leading character which you could watch more and the rest of the cast is great too.
