Unique Guest Book Ideas for Your Wedding

By Weddingblog2011

Brides these days often move away from the traditional path when it comes to planning their wedding. You may want a traditional guest book that your guests can sign, but if not, there are plenty of alternatives. Here are some unique guest “book” ideas for your wedding day.

Polaroid Guest Book

Rather than just having your guests sign a guest book, enlist a helper to take Polaroid pictures of guests as they arrive. Have them place the Polaroid pictures on a specific page and have the guests provide little tips for a happy marriage along with their names. This provides a wonderful memory book that the bride and groom can cherish forever.

Tree of Happiness Guest “Book”

Another great alternative to a traditional guest book is to have a talented individual draw a large tree on a poster, with branches sticking out in all directions. Provide colored ink so guests can place a fingerprint at the end of each branch to represent a “blossom,” and then they can sign their names next to their fingerprint. This is a wonderful way to remember the wedding day and all the friends and family who attended.

Memory Box

Rather than the traditional method of having guests sign a book, you can provide a decorative box and note cards, allowing guests to leave messages of love and support and then place the notes inside the memory box. Couples can have a wonderful time opening the box and reading their loved ones’ messages of support after the ceremony is over.

Wishes Tree

Find a large branch and strip the leaves. These can often be purchased in craft stores already finished. Paint the “tree” silver or gold and then place it in a large vase or container where it will stay steady. Provide small strips of cloth and small sharpie markers so guests can leave messages or signatures. They can then tie the strip of cloth around a branch of the tree, creating a beautiful décor piece and memories that the bride and groom will cherish forever.

There are many different alternatives to a traditional guestbook, and with a little creativity, you can come up with a ton of different ways that guests can leave messages of hope and love.
