The UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) yesterday held a minute’s silence over the passing of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, and a minute of silence for the passing of the Leopold Samba, Permanent Representative of the Central African Republic to the United Nations Office at Geneva.

The Human Rights Council yesterday morning opened its fifty-first session, hearing an oral update by the Acting High Commissioner for Human Rights, Nada Al Nashif, on global human rights developments and the activities of the Office of the High Commissioner.
