The first under RM500 smartphone featured in this blog is the HTC Wildfire S A510E which was first introduced by HTC in February 2011. The phone is now available for sale at only RM388 at Lazada’s Weekend Clearance Sale which is applicable only for two days, that is on 26 and 27 January. The device is originally priced at RM514 and the price may go back to the original on following weekdays.

The HTC Wildfire S A510E is powered by Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread) which is upgradable to Gingerbread v2.3.5. The body is measured at 101.3 x 59.4 x 12.4 mm (3.99 x 2.34 x 0.49 in) and weight at only 105 g (3.70 oz). It is powered by a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 ARM11 processor and an Adreno 200 GPU. It has 512MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM, external memory can be expanded through a microSD up to 32GB. The display is  3.2-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 256K colors, size of 320 x 480 pixels (~180 ppi pixel density). It is also equipped with a 5MP rear camera, 2592 x 1944 pixels with autofocus and LED flash. It can shoot video at VGA@24fps. Unfortunately there is no front facing camera. Pros: Cheap, an HTC brand name, cute but sturdy design, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, 5MP camera.
