Ultimate Man’s Getaway – Las Vegas NV

By Dudepins @dudepins

If you’ve been saving up for a trip with the guys or have a bonus to blow Vegas should be your top choice. Vegas is a dream land of adult entertainment. The best of Vegas includes gambling at the Caesars, taking in Cirque de Soleil at the Bellagio, pool parties at Encore and making new friends at Sapphires.  The strip averages out to have a 90% occupancy rate across the hotels which means no matter what time a year you go down you won’t be alone. Super bowl Sunday is one of the busiest weekends in Vegas with close to 100 million dollars’ worth of bets being place.

How do I know so much about Vegas? While last weekend I was down there to give it a spin myself to see if I could put together the ultimate man’s getaway. You be the judge.

Friday – setting the tone

Travel day starts at 8am which means we were poolside at the Mandalay Bay by 1pm. A few crevasses on the beach in my trusty board shorts and rocking my tinted shades was a great way to shrug off the air miles. From there it was time to hit the strip. We decided to hit a burger join in the middle of the strip for the cheap meal and the fantastic people watching. After that it was back to the hotel to clean up and toss on my new suit before hitting the craps tables. Cigar, beer, new suit and up $600 set the tone for an epic evening. On a side note, one of rules for the weekend was what is made in Vegas stays in Vegas.

Saturday – pushing the limits

Friday was good but Saturday was great. The day started with a big breakfast then over to the pool party at the Wynn. Now every awesome trip has a turning point when things go from good to great. After the pool party at the Wynn I was ambushed by my buddy to get body painted as Batman! Skin City in Las Vegas NV has some of the best body painters in the world. After 2 hours of professional attention (not that kind) I was decked out in a full body painted Batman suit. It’s now 7pm…So we hit up Absinthe which is a hilarious, raunchy and death-defying show. I must see when you go to Vegas. This entire day is building up to the main event which is Avicii live in concert. The club was packed to the rafters and as the fog cleared the bass picked up. I don’t remember how I got back to the hotel but I know I did with big grin.

Sunday – keeping it classy

After getting in as late as we did it was a much needed rest day. We put in some serious pool time to clear out the cob webs. From there it was off to a good meal at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant in Paris Paris. The rest of the night was spent casino hoping with a few drinks and a bit of success at the tables. Taking the day to just relax was a great way to wind down the trip and get ready to go back to reality.

Monday – sort your life out

This was a full travel day of hot and cold sweats as the first symptoms of withdrawal kicked in. the terrible travel day was well worth the experience of Vegas which is why it is the ultimate man’s getaway.
