UDRP Filed On NJturnpike.com & GardenStateParkway.com, Registered in 1998

A UDRP has just been filed on the matching domain names of the two major highways in New Jersey.

The UDRP was filed on the domain names NJturnpike.com & GardenStateParkway.com both which are registered by a  David P Matteo who lives in New Jersey.

The domain name were both registered on the same day back on July 31, 1998.

Mr. Matteo according to DomainTools.com has owned the domain since at least 2001 but could be the original registrant.

Mr. Matteo also owns the domain name  ONSITENJ.COM which appears to be a computer sales and service business located in Ocean Grove, NJ

Both domain names go to a blog/website fnjtolls.com, that display’s Mr. Matteo apparent unhappiness with the current Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie and the fact that the state charges Tolls on its roadways.

Although its not official it seems to the causal observer seeing a logo of the middle finger on the site next to the domain name Fnjtolls.com stands for Fuck New Jersey Tolls.

The site would also indicate that Mr. Matteo had not much love for the former Governor of New Jersey, Jon Corzine either.

While political speech and gripe sites usually are protected in UDRP’s these actual roadways do exist and the site they are directed to have Google Ad sense in between the articles. On the other hand the domain names have been owned by the current domain holder for at least 12 years and possibly since 1998.

You would have thought someone in the NJ state government would have figured out they didn’t own these domain names sometimes before today and 1998 but as a born and raised New Yorker, I have to remember it is New Jersey.

It should be an interesting case to watch.…
