The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested an employee of the Moratuwa Urban Council (UC) in connection with the attack on the peaceful protestors at Galle Face and near Temple Trees, Colombo on May 9, yesterday, Police said.
The 49-year-old suspect is a resident of the Moratuwella area.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said already available evidence has proved that the suspect had attacked peaceful protestors near Temple Trees.
He was to be produced before Courts yesterday.
