For his 41st birthday, Tyrese Gibson wife, Samantha Lee Gibson gave him a pajama party at their Atlanta home, that included a surprise visit from Teddy Pendergrass widow Joan Pendergrass, who gifted the singer with her late husband's black slippers.
"As we celebrate you today (which consists of lots of naps and food), I PROCLAIM that EYES haven't seen, EARS haven't heard all the plans God has for you, Samathan Lee wrote on Instagram, with pics from her hubby's "Toast to Greatness" themed black and gold party.
Samantha trusted Lemiga Events to help bring her vision to life for her hubby's party which included a dope balloon design on the stairwell, a birthday cake, live poetry, fireworks, and an interactive game that got the ladies and the gents talking about life and love.
Some of the singer's celebrity & spiritual friends were able to stop by including Keith Sweat and Real Talk Kim.
"I am literally wearing Teddy Pendergrass black furry bedtime slippers! MIND BLOWN!!!!!! Given to me as a gift from Teddy's beloved widow Joan Pendergrass God is the greatest, the singer wrote on Instagram posing in the slippers while sitting in a chair.
It was announced at the beginning of 2019 that he would portray the R&B Icon in an upcoming biopic that's being produced by Lee Daniels, Donald De Line, Joan Pendergrass and Gibson. The screenplay is being written by Little Marvin.
"I am honored to take this journey... This is the role that I feel I was born to play," Gibson said in a statement. "Teddy Pendergrass embraced me and before he passed, put the responsibility on my shoulders to tell his story. Being here in this time and in this space and moment with Lee Daniels, Donald De Line, Little Marvin, and Warner Bros. is an answered prayer.
