Tyrant debuted on Tuesday on FX, and saw 2.1 million viewers. Not a bad start for a series void of a recognizable star. If the ratings hold, I suspect FX will stick with the drama. NBC’s Taxi Brooklyn debuted to 5.4 million, which is not horrible for an NBC summer drama. I think it would take more for NBC to order a second season, but it’s a good start.
Also, The Last Ship debuted on TNT on Sunday, and was the biggest new cable series debut of the summer, so far. So, kudos to TNT on having another hit.
Tonight, ABC looks to Season 2 of NY Med, and SyFy continues with the one-two punch of Defiance and Dominion.
