Nickelodeon has announced the cast for "Young Dylan" starring Ellen Degeneres favorite rapper Dylan Gilmer.
Martin alum, Carl Anthony Payne II, Mieko Hillman, , Celina Smith, Hero Hunter and Aloma Wright will join Dylan in the live action series.
Executive produced, directed and written by Tyler Perry, the story follows a family whose world is turned upside down when their nephew, Young Dylan, an aspiring hip-hop star, moves in unannounced.
When Dylan's grandmother Viola (Wright) realizes raising her grandson is too much to take on, she decides to send him to live indefinitely with her affluent son Myles Wilson (Payne), his wife Yasmine (Hillman) and their two kids Rebecca (Smith) and Charlie (Hunter). The series will film at Tyler Perry's new state of the art Atlanta, Georgia studios.
Ya'll may remember Dylan from season 14 of America's Got Talent where he covered Kendrick Lamar's Humble...Then Ellen surprised him with a guest spot on a Nickelodeon show.. Then 3 years later she had him back on her show so that Tyler Perry could surprise him with the news that he was getting his own show on the network.
This should be a good family friendly show.
