Police Divisional Crimes Investigation Unit of Kalutara arrested two suspects wanted in connection with several burglaries and snatching of gold necklaces in Kalutara area
along with several gold jewelry and other stolen equipment on Thursday evening.
The 17 and 22 year-old suspects known as Ankunda and Chamu are residents of Agalawatta and Payagala.
Police had traced the suspects through CCTV footage and made the arrests, police said.
Two digital cameras valued at Rs.1 million, a gold necklace, earrings, two rings, bracelets, pendants, four pen drives, one headphone, a smart phone and a motorcycle used to commit robberies were also taken into the custody by the police.
They had conducted four burglaries, police said.Police were to produce the suspects before the Kalutara Magistrate’s Courts.
