The Republicans didn't need any more bad news, but these two polls delivers it anyway. They show the Democratic lead over the Republicans is growing. The CNN poll shows that lead to be 11 points now (52% to 41%), and the Quinnipiac poll shows it to be 9 points (51% to 42%). Note that both polls now have the Democrats with a majority.
The CNN / SSRS Poll was done between August 9th and 12th of a national sample of 921 registered voters, and has a 3.9 point margin of error.
The Quinnipiac University Poll was done between August 9th and 13th of a national sample of 1,175 voters, with a 3.4 point margin of error.
