I started working on the backgrounds of two new abstract paintings, both in the same tall slim format I've been working with recently. I'm hoping to make these in the same style as my last two, but not quite as close in color.
First, I applied spots of color randomly across the canvas: sap green, orange, cobalt blue, light blue violet, yellow, alizarin crimson, black, white, and burnt umber. Then I blended it all together with a large wet brush. Next, I drew lines with parchment and unbleached titanium, and blended those with a brush.
