Two more new gTLD application were withdrawn and reflected on the ICANN site tonight.
Straat which applied for 13 new gTLD’s withdrew their second application tonight this time for the new gTLD .Movie.
There were originally 8 applications filed for .movie and with Radix previous withdrawal of their application for .movie there are now 6 applicant left including Amazon’s application to operate the gTLD as a closed extension which was put on hold tonight by the New gTLD Committee of ICANN.
Straat’s application for .movie had a prioritization number of 944 and with Initial Evaluation results for applications with prioritization numbers between 901-1,000 scheduled to be released tomorrow, Straat picked up an extra $65,000 the difference between a 70% refund they will receive now and a 35% refund they would have received if they waited another day to withdraw the application.
Another applicant which was up for Initial Evaluation tomorrow withdrew their application tonight to get the 70% refund.
KBE gTLD Holding Inc of New York withdrew one of its four new gTLD application for .BWAY.
The application for .BWAY was for live theater and shows and seemed to be a shorterner for .Broadway.
KBE gTLD Holding Inc, has three more new gTLD applications including one for .broadway.
There are two other applicants for .Broadway as well.
89 new gTLD applications have been withdrawn with ICANN.
