Two youth were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between a motorbike and a van in the Ingiriya, Raigamwatta area on the Ingiriya-Padukka main road yesterday morning (16).
“The three people on the motorbike were returning from an event at Ingiriya.
A couple and their child were traveling in the van,” investigations revealed.Jayalath Kumara (36), a resident of Wela Ihala in Handapangoda and Tarindu Piya Ranga (27), a resident of Temple Road, Handapangoda died in this accident.”The three people on the motorbike were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident,” Police said.
The injured were admitted to the Ingiriya Hospital and transferred to the Horana Base Hospital. Ingiriya Police is investigating.
