Twitter and NFT Marketplaces Give Collectors NFT Tweet Tiles

As part of its strategy to expand into web3, Twitter is working on a test product that will let users share NFTs and collectibles with call-to-action (CTA) features. The company will use tweet tiles, a feature that it has been testing with major news outlets.

Twitter’s “Tweet tiles,” which have large images, fonts that can be changed, and clear calls to action, are meant to get more people involved.

In August, the company released a beta version of its product, which gave the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and The Guardian a chance to try out the new features.

But by working with OpenSea, Rarible, Magic Eden, Dapper Labs, and GuardianLink’s Jump.trade marketplaces, the social media company hopes to bring this feature to the world of NFTs.

A non-fungible token (NFT) is a JPEG, music track, collectible, video clip, or piece of artwork that has been turned into a digital format and stored on the blockchain. Since the beginning of the year, NFTs have become more popular because celebrities and big fashion houses are using them more and more.

Venture capital firms like A16z Crypto, the SoftBank Vision 2 Fund, Polygon Studios, Binance Labs, OpenSea Ventures, and many others have shown their support for the industry.

Because of this partnership, Twitter will be able to add a feature that lets NFT collectors share collectibles with CTA on the service. Tweets will also include NFT metadata, like the name and creator of the NFT or collection.

During this test run, the highlighted partners will be able to show off their lively NFTs for the first time on Twitter. If this is popular, Twitter plans to make it available to the rest of the NFT community.

It’s only been a few months since the social media company added NFT profile pictures, which let collectors use NFT JPEGs as their avatars, so this news comes as a pleasant surprise. Users can prove they own their NFTs by linking their online wallets.

Developers and collectors will be able to improve the NFT experience by using Tweet tiles, which will let them make posts that are better for mobile and have more graphics.

Meta Platforms just released a feature that lets users in 100 countries share NFTs and collectibles on social media sites like Instagram and Facebook. The company worked with NFT wallet providers like Coinbase, which helps people buy and sell digital currencies, and Flow, which was made by Dapper Labs.

The company said in a press release on Thursday, “The ability to embed NFTs, complete with pertinent information and a direct marketplace link, will drive sales and support the discovery of new and trending collections.”

The tweet tile feature is now available on the web and on iOS for the five NFT marketplaces that were mentioned.
