late last night, just before the start this morning of the trial in the Hague at the ICJ in the South African lawsuit against Israel for genocide, PM Netanyahu made this statement in English. It was necessary for the court to hear it on record that Israel has no intention to displace the Palestinians and encourage their migration from Gaza to other countries. With the various Ministers in his government and MKs having made statements over the past months since the war began that attest to intentions to get rid of or wipe out the Palestinians, this is the least he can do to try to fix that.
I still think a better tactic would have been a countersuit against the Palestinians for genocide, with the October 7 massacre as the primary piece of evidence. Israel is not a member of the ICJ so would likely have needed one of our friends to file, the same way South Africa filed for the Palestinians...
