Turner Gallery, Margate – Landscape

By Davis Landscape Architecture @DavisLandArch

The Turner Gallery, Margate, designed by David Chipperfield Architects was opened to the public in 2011. The landscape was designed by landscape architects Gross Max. As the building is located on the side of a hill the majority of the landscape deals with pedestrian access in the form of steps and ramps. The materials chosen are robust as this site is located next to the sea defense for Margate harbor and in an extremely exposed location. Pavings and kerbs are of stone all retaining structures are of fair faced concrete.
