Verdict on Turn Me On
Recap
The movie follows a couple in a dystopian world where everyone has their emotions controlled. One day they stop taking their pills and learn of a bigger world with more opportunities. However, it brings them new problems with fitting in and understanding emotions.
Best Parts
The movie is an excellent reflection on how emotions can control people’s lives. It gives the world here a chance to escape that world with a drug. With this, we see how people can turn to drugs too easily for emotional pain and this shows the good and the bad for it. It creates an odd world which opens the doors to escaping the everyday run-of-the-mill routine. The performances are good throughout the movie too.
Worst Parts
It does fall into the basic human demands once off the pills. This never opens the door to more natural ideas of what is needed in the world.
Final Thoughts –Turn Me On is a quirky comedy.
