Turkish Football Weekly: Unal Aysal Has Left The Building

The weekend’s action on the field generated a lot of discussion.  However, off the field, one person decided to overshadow the on the field action.  This week on Turkish Football Weekly:

  • Week 3 results of the Turkish Super League are reviewed.  This includes a debate on the position in the Fenerbahce-Gaziantepspor match which led to a penalty.  The guys look forward to action in week 4, as they run down the schedule.
  • With European play on the horizon this coming week for the three Turkish clubs in Europe, the matches coming up in the midweek are discussed.
  • Nadeem Raja is back with the report on the lower leagues.
  • Genclerbirligi has found a new manager, and Besiktas tries to find a new stadium.  These developments are discussed
  • The main news this week comes from Galatasaray.  Current chairman Unal Aysal has announced that he will not run for another term when the club’s extraordinary conference occurs in October.  His legacy at Galatasaray is debated.
