Plot: TURBO is a high-velocity 3D comedy about a snail who dares to dream big – and fast. After a freak accident infuses him with the power of super-speed, Turbo kicks into overdrive and embarks on an extraordinary journey to achieve the seemingly impossible: competing in the world’s fastest race, the Indianapolis 500. With the help of his tricked-out streetwise snail crew, this ultimate underdog puts his heart and shell on the line to prove that no dream is too big, and no dreamer too small.
Verdict: Animation Madness
Story: If you were to eliminate the idea of the characters this is actually a good story about chasing dreams even when the people closest to you don’t believe in you. It also is the old story of the underdog going up against the champion which is also a good watch. The problem here is it is about a snail racing human driver’s yes that is a big problem. The story does keep things rolling well but it is very hard to overlook the snail racer. (6/10)
Character Review
Turbo: The snail who dreams of becoming a race driver and when he gets a chance he will risk everything to make sure he gets that chance. Good leading character showing how much you need to risk getting what you want. (8/10)
Chet: The over protective brother of Turbo, who plays everything super safe to make sure they get through the day, after they have to leave he has to face all his fears while his brother follows his dream. (7/10)
Tito: The taco salesman who has come up with plenty of get rich quick plans over the years but this one is the maddest of all of them. (7/10)
Guy Gagne: The champion racer who is all face to the public but he will do anything to make sure he wins every race. (7/10)
Director Review: David Soren – Puts together a good underdog story but is very hard to consider even for an animated film. (6/10)
Animation: The animation is all top level which is what you would expect with the technology we have now. (9/10)
Comedy: Doesn’t offer as much comedy as it should. (5/10)
Settings: Each setting is great for the story showing the safe home, the taco area to the race track. (8/10)
Suggestion: This is one for the kids I don’t see many people really enjoying as a casual watch otherwise. (Kids Will Be Alright)
Best Part: The race is edge of the seat.
Worst Part: It’s a snail racing, come on.
