Tulip ‘Green Star’

By Alip @alisonpikeGD

My garden was seriously lacking in bulbs when we moved in, so last year saw the first of many bulbs orders being placed.  I had my eye on Tulipa ‘Green Star’  (check out this link for what it should look like) with it’s pointed white petals and central green band.  I am planning an area in the garden that will be purely green – green flowers & green foliage and ‘Green Star’ fit the bill.  So you can imagine how I felt when the flower below decided to pop up!……. it’s pink!

Now I not saying the flower above isn’t pretty, the pink tinge to the edge of the petals make it look like its blushing…. (it obviously realises it’s been discovered as an intruder!) but blushing is not what I’m after so time to contact the supplier me thinks.
