These charts are from a Military Times Poll conducted between October 23rd and December 2nd of 1,630 active-duty troops in the U.S. Military, and has a 2 point margin of error.I was a bit surprised at the results of this poll. Traditionally, members of the military have been strong supporters of the Republican Party (especially Republican presidents). They normally see the Republicans as supporting them -- mostly because the Republicans are always supporting more defense spending (even though much of that money goes to defense contractors -- not soldiers and their families).
Donald Trump likes to pose as a strong supporter of our military. He has told them that he has their backs. But his actions say something different. And they are starting to realize that.
As these charts show, the military members no longer see Trump as their strong supporter. Most of them now have an unfavorable opinion of him -- and some of the actions he has taken regarding them.
