True Blood Vampire Lucy Griffiths to appear on the London StageAs we reported earlier this week, British actress Lucy Griffiths  has been cast as Nora, Eric’s vampire sister and will be seen in Season 5.

While Lucy is best know for her role as Marian in the BBC drama Robin Hood and Ruth in the TV series The Little House, she is also a stage actress. Before she joins the cast of True Blood to begin filming her role in Season 5, we have just learned that she is to be in the play “Atman” on the London Stage.

Jacqui Hones-Martin, director of the play has sent us a press release about the new play which will be premiering at the Finborough Theate in the West End. Hones-Martin is Artistic Director of InSite Performance for whom she is currently developing the UK premiere of Larisa and The Merchants by Alexander Ostrovsky in a new version by Samuel Adamson.

The English premiere and the English language world premiere of a new play by one of Scotland’s most successful Scots Gaelic writers, Iain Finlay Macleod, Atman, opens at the Finborough Theatre for a limited run of six Sunday and Monday performances from 6 November 2011 (Press Night: Monday,  7 November 2011).

The play will be performed Sundays and Mondays, 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21 November 2011 and is a chilling insight into the dizzying power of fiction inspired by the works of Jorge Luis Borges, the master of magical realism.

Atman was first performed in Scots Gaelic by Tosg Theatre Company on a Highlands tour and now receives its English language world premiere, following a reading as part of Vibrant – An Anniversary Festival of Finborough Playwrights in 2010 starring Jasper Britton and Alan Cox.

The cast includes Lucy Griffiths and Matthew Spencer.
