True Blood season 4 has been over for just a little under 48 hours and I already have True Blood season 5 spoilers. Yes that’s right Truebies, season 5! Excutive producer and writer Raelle Tucker recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly’s Tim Stack about what we might be seeing next season.
As we saw in episode 4.11, Soul of Fire the Fairies didn’t disappear from True Blood when Sookie (Anna Paquin) made her escape, one of them hooked up with Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer) in the woods:
”We will also once again visit the fairy world touched upon at the beginning of season 4…Season 5 will explore more fairies, new fairies, fairies in a way you haven’t really seen fairies. We will all, as well as Sookie, come to understand fairies more than in previous seasons.”
There will also be a woman in town who is very mysterious but is apparently familiar to us:
“There will be a very significant, strong, mysterious woman at the center of one of our main stories next year. That will be a very familiar and compelling character. It may be someone you’ve heard of before.”
Scott Foley’s Patrick who is a former Marine buddy of Terry’s (Todd Lowe) will be bringing trouble to him and Arlene (Carrie Preston). Yikes!
“His arc has to do with Terry’s past coming back to haunt Bon Temps and Arlene and their life they’re trying to set up together.”
The wolf who was seen growling at Sam (Sam Trammell) in the last moments of episode 12, And When I Die will also be a new character that we’ve never met. Alcide’s (Joe Manganiello)’ dad perhaps? We’ll just have to wait and see.
And what about Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare) and Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian)? One is a vampire we’ve already met and the other is a human who is now apparently a vampire too:
“Russell is not dead.It’s safe to assume the king of Mississippi is not gone for good.” Also look for former Fellowship of the Sun leader — and now vampire — Steve Newlin.I will say that Steve’s reason for returning to Jason (Ryan Kwanten) is not at all what you expect.”
Last but not least, what about Sookie, Bill (Stephen Moyer), and Eric (Alexander Skarsgård)? Last time we saw them, Sookie had decided to walk away from both of them and Bill killed Nan Flanagan (Jessica Tuck). So where do they go from there?
“While there will always be romance in Sookie’s life, Sookie at the moment is choosing herself over all of them…I think that will continue to play into season 5.“ At least there’s the potential for a new bromance — or a Thelma & Louise-style fugitive friendship — between Eric and Bill now that they’ve killed Nan Flanagan. The consequences of their actions in the finale are going to chase them for a while next year.”
