Sunday night’s episode of True Blood saw the death of popular character Terry Bellefleur (Todd Lowe) and the beheading of the not-so-popular Governor Burrell (Arliss Howard), but another beloved character had her final scene as well. Poor Emma has lost her dad, her mom and was kidnapped by a pack of werewolves with overinflated egos. That would be a lot for anyone to take but the fact that she was a little girl tugged at our heart strings even more. Chloe Noelle, who plays Emma on the show, spoke with USA Today about leaving the show, who she enjoyed working with the most and what she is up to the rest of the summer.
One thing that stands out from reading the interview with 10 year old Chloe is that she seems years older than she is! When asked if Sunday was Emma’s last episode, Noelle replied that she is not sure but she hopes that its not because she has enjoyed working on the show so much. Her final scene where she said goodbye to Sam was touching and stood out in an Episode with many twists and turns. When asked if she is sad to go, Chloe said:
Yeah, I am pretty sad. I’m going to miss my friends on the set — I might not see them again. But in the storyline, I’m with someone who is related to me and is sort of the same type as me, so that’s good. It’s just that I really wanted (Emma) to be with Sam. I think he’s better for Emma, because she knows him better.
While the majority of her scenes were with Janina Gavankar (Luna Garza) and Sam Trammell (Sam Merlotte), Noelle reveals that her two favorite people to work with were Sam and Joe Manganiello (Alcide Herveaux) because both of them are “so unbelievably nice its ridiculous”.
Emma spent much of Season 5 as a wolf after she was kidnapped and taken to The Authority by Russell Edgington and Steve Newlin, and Noelle reveals that one of her favorite scenes to shoot was actually one that ended up being cut:
Well, there’s a scene that got cut last season where I was running away from The Authority. We were shooting all these vampires, and they were turning into piles of goo. I love that horror stuff. I got to touch some of the goo — it was so cool. It’s really sticky, but it’s warm.
While most kids may be afraid of that kind of stuff, Chloe says she loves horror movies and scary stuff like that, and she gives away the secret of the vampire goo saying it is ramen noodles and cherry sauce. Sounds like a sticky mess! Of course even though she is on one of the most adult shows on television that doesn’t mean she actually gets to watch it. When asked if her parents let her watch it she says “Heck no. It’s so inappropriate for kids”. (Seriously how adorable is she?) She has watched her own scenes and a couple of other tame scenes but she says she has made up her own idea of True Blood in her head.
Starting out in Hollywood at such a young age may turn some kids off to acting later in life, but Chloe says that she still hopes to be an actress when she’s older. She says she would also like to learn costuming and directing to expand her career choices. In the more immediate time frame, when asked what her plans are for the summer, Noelle says:
Well, I do a weekly news segment every Tuesday (on Fox 5 San Diego). Today we’re trying to get ready for it, and it’s frantic! I talk about everything that’s cool for kids, stuff that’s cool for the summer and ways to keep kids busy. Personally, what I like to do for my summer is just lay around the house either watching TV or reading a book, swimming or playing video games.
See what I mean? She sounds so much older than she is! We are definitely going to miss seeing Emma and we hope the powers that be bring her back and reunite her with Sam.
