True Blood season 4 netted the HBO series another best of 2011 mention, this time from Comcast Xnfinity’s blog. Last month they listed the top 100 television moments of 2011 and True Blood scored 2 spots at #6 and #60.
The first moment was a highly anticipated one for fans of True Blood and the Southern Vampire Mystery books as they saw Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) have sex for the first time in season 4:
6. Sookie and Eric finally get together on “True Blood.” The Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis of the underworld make The Beast With Two Backs, and Team Eric fans everywhere score one for their side. There hasn’t been this much interest in the sex lives of creatures who wander the night since the most recent episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians
At #60, Another Sookie and Eric moment made the list, this time for its comedic value rather than its steamy appeal. Eric sucking the life out of Sookie’s fairy godmother Claudine (Lara Pulver):
60. Eric kills Sookie’s fairy godmother on “True Blood.” Okay, so it shouldn’t be funny when anyone has the life literally sucked out of them by a vampire. But c’mon! Hearing Sookie scream, “You killed my fairy godmother!” and Eric shrug a “Sorry!” that sounded an awful lot like Rick Perry’s “Oops!”….well, that was the comic highlight of the True Blood season.
