So I did a crazy thing yesterday. I decided to fly to Los Angeles for one night to attend True Blood Music Night which benefited the Amanda Foundation, a local dog and cat rescue here in the city. I am based in San Francisco so it’s actually not a long trip to get here. But when I did arrive, I had only a couple of hours to get myself settled, organized and ready for last night.
The event started at 7 and I thought I would be right on time thanks to the traffic I hit on the way there. As it turned out I was actually a little early. But it worked out perfectly because I was able to say hi to Kristin Bauer van Straten (Pamela Swynford de Beaufort) and Tara Buck (Ginger) not long after they arrived.
Todd Lowe (Terry Bellefleur) was not at the event this year as I noted in my posting for the event. But Abri van Straten and Tara’s husband Chris Pierce were and they were both absolutely amazing. I’ve never seen either of the perform live and before this I had only been familiar with Abri’s music from his CDs. I went into last night prepared to take video and photos like every other event I attend. And I did.
However, what I didn’t expect was the nice intimate evening I experienced. There was a raffle and silent auction to help out the Amanda Foundation. But this night was mostly just about music and having great conversations with the people around you. Everyone had a great time including me!
Below you’ll find pictures and videos of the performances last night. I didn’t take any pictures of Tara or Kristin which I know may be disappointing for you dear readers. But I wanted to let them have the night off and just enjoy the night as much as possible. Ultimately I also just wanted to be there for the experience myself because things like this don’t happen very often.
