True Blood Cast Praise Stephen Moyer as a Director!

True Blood Cast Praise Stephen Moyer as a Director! As all the Stephen Moyer fans know, he is directing episode 8 of Season 5.

While chatting with Alexander Woo at Second City Hollywood at an EJ Scott Fundraiser recently, I learned that the process of directing is very difficult in it’s own right. However, it’s even more so when you are also a member of the cast and required to act. And, je also said that they were finishing up episode 7 when Stephen began episode 8.

Each episode is done in three stages, pre-production, production, and post-production. Pre-production is the part where they plan out all the scenes and decide when and where they are going to shoot the episode and this lasts I think for about a week. Then, the actual filming begins in the production portion and this takes approximately 2 weeks to complete. Once filming wraps, post production begins and then the scenes have to be edited together with finally music and special effects added, in all of which the Director takes a part.

It’s amazing that Steve has been able to do so much while continuing to play his part as our favorite vampire, Bill Compton; no small feat, in my humble opinion!

And, we’re not surprised that several True Blood cast members have been singing his praises as a director. Recently both Lauren Bowles and Carolyn Hennesy tweeted about his skills, see below:

LAUREN BOWLES tweeted the following last night:

True Blood Cast Praise Stephen Moyer as a Director!

I tweeted to Lauren from AllStephenMoyer’s twitter account the following:

True Blood Cast Praise Stephen Moyer as a Director!

And Lauren responded this:

True Blood Cast Praise Stephen Moyer as a Director!

CAROLYN HENNESY tweeted about Steve’s directing last week (the second week of the episode’s filming).

JANINA GAVANKAR: I interviewed Janina last night and my interview will soon be published on the Vault, but during our interview I asked her about Steve’s direction and she said without hesitation, “he’s a great director.”

Below is a very short clip from the interview, in mp3 format, where she discusses his direction:

Shad and I are both very happy for Stephen for taking on yet another challenge. We know he will do well in this as he does in all things and wish him the very best for any future challenges he wishes to pursue!  And, finally I just cannot wait to see this episode.
