Tried & Tested: L’Oréal Paris True Match Pressed Powder

By Clari @clarisaysblog

I have large pores and I want to blame genetics. But after checking my relatives' skin type (yes, I did!), I learned that not all have large pores. This investigation led to the conclusion that my oily skin must have something to do with it. So I researched more and found out that people with naturally oily skin have larger pores

With that, I did whatever I can or at least purchase what I can to reduce the amount of oil. This led me to try multiple products some of which worked. Eventually, I found the products perfect for me. On that journey, I made sure not to wear any makeup as it can clog pores. But sometimes I have to especially during special occasions and certain events.

Since I'm in the lookout for such products, I decided to give the L'Oreal Paris True Match Skin-Caring Skin-Matching Pressed Powder a try. Upon receiving the item from Try & Review Philippines, I immediately put it to the test.

Product: L'Oreal Paris True Match Skin-Caring Skin-Matching Pressed Powder
Color: 4N Beige

Let's start with the packaging and what's inside.

Tried & Tested: L’Oréal Paris True Match Pressed Powder

As you can see, this product is small which means it won't take too much space. Also, it's very light-weight so you can bring it anywhere. Now for the powder. I'm pretty sure this will last long, in my case because I only attend 1-3 events monthly and that does not include special occasions. What I don't like about this product though is the applicator. It's the typical one and I really don't like it as it will stain. But that's alright as there are several powder applicators in the market.

The question now is, does it work for me?

Yes. The first time I used this was during a short blogger event. I applied the product before leaving the house at 10 AM. It was easy to use and it evened out my complexion. My face didn't feel heavy or oily. I only felt the oiliness in the late afternoon. Since I was so scared of the product clogging my pores, I washed my face after the event.

The following day, I used it again just to see how it works indoors. Of course, it worked well because there was no change in temperature. The same goes for Day 3. On Day 4, I decided to give it a try as I have to attend a media launch.

Since my skin is used to the formula, I was more confident. In fact, I didn't re-apply because I didn't feel the need to. My skin was smooth which must be due to the skin-hydrating benefits. I only felt the oiliness though in the late afternoon to early evening. Sadly, I didn't get the chance to wash it off after the event but it was alright because it wasn't itchy or anything.

So will I use it again? Yes, I will but only for special occasions and events. If you're interested in using this product, you'll be happy to know that there are 8 skin-matching shades to choose from. They're perfect for Filipina skin-tone which means you'll easily find the shade that's right for you!

My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
