According to Hospital sources at least five persons were killed and four others injured after a tree fell on a bus traveling from Colombo to Deniyaya this morning, police said.
Sources have confirmed that the victims who lost their lives were all males, while the four injured passengers are currently receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.
The tragic incident occurred approximately 100 meters from the Liberty Roundabout on Duplication Road.
Heavy traffic occurred due this incident and Police have advice to public to take alternate routes.
