Travelogue: Krabi Loving in Thailand

Posted on the 04 April 2019 by Ponderingyogini @PonderingY

Is it crazy to think that I have not had a legitimate break from work since I started work over 1 year ago? It seems like time has flown by with all that has been going on at work, with life, and with many other commitments that I forgot how long it has been where I took a nice break away from everything else.

Krabi, Thailand, is probably one of my favorite beach spots at the moment. Places like Phuket and Bali were a little too touristy and commercialized for my liking, and on the other hand, I must say that I haven’t traveled to that many places in Southeast Asia thus far. However, what really struck me about Krabi was how relatively untouched it is. Aside from the tourist hotspot in Ao Nang and Krabi Town, the rest of Krabi was pretty much very rural, peaceful, and of course, with amazing scenery.

When we first booked the resort at Sawan Mountain Villas, we were a little worried about how inaccessible it may be. Thankfully, we were with the nicest host ever and she made sure that transport was not an issue at all. Not to mention, the scenery that our villa overlooks is almost unreal. Its idyllic view meant that no amount of pictures and filters could ever do it justice.

With a private pool in the villa, it also meant many beautiful sunrise views while chilling in the pool. Extremely grateful for the folks at Beachy Float who lovingly lent us their floats for us to enjoy the picturesque view!

This long weekend getaway also meant lots of food: Phad thai, tomyum soup, green curry, fresh seafood, and many more. What’s the best way to enjoy the food than with amazing company?

We thoroughly enjoyed the sand, sea, and sun while island hopping around Hong Island, Paradise Island, and my favorite – Phra Nang Cave Beach. We also kayaked around Ao Thalane mangrove forest. The pristine nature of the scenery at Krabi really took my breath away.

Grateful for a wonderful getaway with the best company one can ever ask for. Already looking forward to next trip to Indonesia in August for my pre-wedding shoot. Meanwhile, have I mentioned that a yoga guide is coming up this week?

Have an amazing weekend ahead!
