Guide to Camiguin
Camiguin is the second smallest province in the country next to Batanes. It is famous for its sweet lanzones and beautiful natural attractions. It has a laid back vibe that allows visitors to forget the frenetic pace of city living. The island is easily accessible by boat from mainland Mindanao with regular trips departing from and to it. The Spanish conquistadors Magellan and Miguel Lopez de Legaspi landed on the island in the 16th century.
Things to Do in Camiguin
Admire the view of the waterfall before dipping into its pool. This is also one of the most popular attractions on the island.

Sunken Cemetery
The cemetery sunk because of a catastrophic explosion more than a century ago. You can go swimming and snorkeling in the area.
Entrance fee: Free if you just take pictures, you'll need to pay P100 for the boat to reach it.
Old Church Ruins
The volcanic explosion that happened a long time ago ravaged the island and destroyed towns. The old church ruins is a reminder of a once prosperous neighborhood.
Sto. Nino Cold Spring
Dip into the cool and refreshing waters of this spring. Hang out and just chill during your visit.

This is a good place to relax and unwind in. Take a dip into one of the hot springs to soothe and relax your tight and tired muscles.

White Island
This huge sandbar is one of the most popular destinations in Camiguin. Swim in the azure waters, lie on the fine, white sand and admire the beautiful views.
How to go to White Island: You'll have to rent a boat at the nearest port for P450 (can accommodate up to 6 people). There is also a P50 entrance fee.
Getting Around Camiguin
It is convenient to explore the island whether you are traveling alone or with a group. You can rent a motorcycle for P500/day. You can also hire a motorbike taxi for P800/day. For larger groups, you can rent a jeep for P2500/day for up to 16 people. A van costs P2500/day and can accommodate up to 10 people. A multi-cab costs P1700/day for up to eight persons.
How to Go to Camiguin
There are no direct flights from Manila to Camiguin, you'll have to make a detour via Cebu. Alternatively, you can book a flight to Cagayan de Oro City. Major airlines have regular trips to and from CDO.
Once in CDO airport, board an express van bound for Agora Market Terminal. You can find their booths near the arrival area. The ride can take up to 45 minutes or less, fare is P199. After arriving at the terminal, get on a bus going to Balingoan Port. This costs around P150 and may take up to three hours. TIP: Avoid the non airconditioned buses, they take long because of multiple stops along the way.
At Balingoan terminal, you can just walk to the port. The fare going to Benoni Port in Camiguin costs approximately P130 to P170. The trip can take around two hours. You'll also pay an additional P4 environmental fee and P5 terminal fee.
From Benoni Port, you can board a van to Mambajao for P30. If you're staying near Benoni, you can just hire a motorcycle taxi or habal-habal to take you to your accommodation.
