I love traveling and I'm lucky that as well as enjoying trips away, I get to visit new places through my job too. Though that being said, I don't have any trips booked for this summer and I think it's about time I started looking for something!
I think Berlin has to be my favorite place I've visited abroad and if you're looking for a city break I'd urge you to pop over there. I'd also massively recommend visiting the Isle of Skye which is the most picturesque place I've been. Around every corner there's beautiful scenery; mountains, hills, lakes, everything you could want if you like being outdoors.
So the other day I was sat thinking about traveling and I came across this competition TranSun are hosting, offering one lucky person and a friend the chance to visit Iceland to see the northern lights. I'm not one to enter that many competitions, but when the northern lights are involved, I felt like I had to. Plus it'll be nice to know which places are top of your travel bucket list too, so do let me know!
I don't even need to explain this one, just a quick browse on pinterest says it better than I could. Iceland is stunning, the geysers, thermal springs - have you seen blue lagoon?! and the landscape just appeals so much. I think I'm still holding on to my GCSE geography days appreciating glaciers and rock formation a little too much! I'd love to see the aurora borealis and even though no one can actually predict you'll see it, I feel like Iceland is the place to go if you're serious about it. I'd also like to go whale watching; it'd be a bit of a step up from dolphin watching off the coast of Scotland which was pretty exciting anyway. Whales are amazing animals so to actually see one in the wild would be very special.
2. America

For a few years now I've really liked the idea of hiring a car and driving around America. Now I can actually drive, it's even more of a possibility. I'd have to factor in stop offs in LA and San Francisco to name a few, but I think it'd be really relaxing and I could easy get a playlist sorted for the road.
3. New Zealand

It'll probably come as no surprise that New Zealand is on the list, especially if you know me. I've currently got two friends out in Australia at the moment; one who was only headed over on a sandwich year placement (yes, looking at you Cameron) but loved it so much he's now staying there to complete his degree and has a pretty decent job too. I just think New Zealand looks incredible, I just nearly spent my entire lunch break browsing photos on pinterest! I'd love to go over, do a little snowboarding and sightseeing and just take in the scenery. I'd probably factor in a week in Australia too potentially, whilst I'm on that side of the Earth.
That's just three, I also want to go on a road trip around Scandinavia, interrail around Europe and visit Thailand to name a couple more, but I'll maybe save them for another post soon.
Enter TranSun's competition to be in with a chance of winning a trip to see the Northern Lights. All the details are here, but be quick - entries must be in by almost midnight, 30th April!
