In a seemingly perfect community, without war, pain suffering, differences or choice, a young boy is chosen to learn from an elderly man about the true pain and pleasure of the real world. Based on Lois Lowry’s book this looks like yet another teenage going against the ‘rules’ to live their own life no matter how many people they hurt. This does look like Equilibrium for kids but having two Oscar winner actors involved Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges gives it some creditability but it will be up to young stars Brenton Thwaites and Taylor Swift to shine through.
