Tottenham in pole position for Tosin Adarabioyo?
Tosin Adarabioyo is a sought-after player currently available as a free agent. His decision to leave Fulham upon the expiration of his contract has disappointed Marco Silva and the club. Several teams, including Newcastle United, are interested in the 26-year-old.
Tottenham is actively pursuing Adarabioyo and is aiming to become the leading contender for his signature. They have maintained regular communication with him and his representatives, showing strong interest since last summer and the January transfer window. There is now potential for Spurs to secure his services on a free transfer.
Ange Postecoglou is looking to bolster his defensive options and views Adarabioyo as a valuable addition. Although Radu Dragusin has been signed, he has mostly been on the bench, serving as backup for Micky van de Ven or Cristian Romero.
As Tottenham prepares for a return to European competition, Postecoglou will require more depth in defense. Signing a player of Adarabioyo’s caliber on a free transfer could allow Spurs to allocate their funds to other positions, such as full-back, midfielder, and another forward.
Liverpool is also interested in Adarabioyo and is among the clubs pursuing the 26-year-old. They aim to strengthen their defensive options, possibly using Adarabioyo as cover for Virgil van Dijk or Ibrahima Konate.
Adarabioyo’s decision on his new club may hinge on the assurance of regular playing time, a factor Liverpool and Tottenham need to consider. However, given the potential for more playing time at Spurs, they could be the frontrunners in this pursuit.
