Torres has shared new single ‘Good Scare’ ahead of the release of new album ‘Silver Tongue’ (pre-order here) on 31 January and a run of tour dates across the UK and Europe.
The single opens with art pop atmospherics drenched in electronica as Mackenzie Scott opens up about just how scary falling in love can be (comparing it to ‘Superman’s crawl’ where you have to move forward, no matter what, to discover what the future holds): ‘I haven’t seen that look from you before’; ‘You might give me a good scare for a minute there’. She reaffirms this with the observation that ‘You make me want to write a country song, folks here in New York get a kick out of’ as the song veers into a sound that sits somewhere between Air and Bat for Lashes.
