Toronto, 13 US Sites Announced for CONCACAF Gold Cup

B5AIp5QCYAAekOcCONCACAF came out with a tremendous surprise on Tuesday when they announced that the city of Toronto would be hosting Group B of the 2015 Gold Cup that will take this coming summer in the US and Canada.

Right now Group B is headed by World Cup quarterfinalist Costa Rica. This will be the final leg in this group as they would make previous stops in Los Angeles (Stub Hun Center) and Houston (BBVA Compass Stadium). For Toronto this would be the first time that the event would be hosted on Canadian soil.

The US will begin the defense of their title and look to ensure a direct ticket to the 2018 Confederations Cup in Dallas’ Toyota Stadium on July 7, before moving on with the rest of Group A to Boston (Gillette Stadium, July 10) and Kansas City (Sporting Park, July 13).

Mexico will lead Group C and play in Chicago (Soldier Field) on July 9, Phoenix (University of Phoenix Stadium, July 12) and Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium on July 15.

There was no announcement for which city would have the final, that is still pending for 2015.

July 12 (Group C) – Phoenix – University of Phoenix Stadium (Phoenix, AZ)
July 13 (Group A) – Kansas City – Sporting Park (Kansas City, KS)
July 14 (Group B) – Toronto – BMO Field (Toronto, ON)
July 15 (Group C) – Charlotte – Bank of America Stadium (Charlotte, NC)
