The last few days I've been scouting the internet for new trends for SS '13. As Topshop has always been a high street brand close to my heart each week I will put together several outfits from their 'New In This Week' tab. As these are my own personal style ensembles it not only shows my own ideas of what things I would throw together for an outfit, but I hope it will also give you some inspiration, potential outfit ideas for all occasions and inform you of what's hot to trot. Everyone is each to their own, and I don't want these posts to suggest that you need the latest things. As fashion is so cyclical, a lot of colours, textures, shapes, styles and trends will already be in your wardrobe, some may not, but the majority will be. It's all about bringing in new pieces to work back into your existing wardrobe.
Outfit 1 Emerald Maxi is very simple, but at the same time it's also extremely elegant. I am a huge fan of leather, always have been, always will be. It just works with everything. And maxi dresses, they are perfect for both summer and winter. I love the emerald green shade of this maxi dress, and to compliment it I added the Merino Clutch. To give the outfit an edge I thought this Black Biker Jacket worked really well, along with these absolutely stunning Platform Chelsea Boots. This outfit would be perfect for both day and night.
Outfit 2 Black Textures is a very popular ensemble. An all black outfit is always the easiest option, and is always the most classy. I fell in love with this Black Fringe Maxi Cover Up which has a tribal feel to it. If I styled it myself I would have bare legs with this outfit just to break up the all black look and to emphasize the fringing. The oversized leather jacket gives it a more laid back and less defined look, teamed with the suede Lace-up Heeled Ankle Boots. The quilted bag has a very Chanel look about it, but for a fraction of the price.
Outfit 3 B&W Combo is another very simple and classic outfit perfect for the day time. A white crochet knit and black skinny jeans is perfect and has that Chanel look once again. I'm becoming more and more a fan of this particular shade of yellow which in fact online is referred to as 'lime'. This addition adds a splash of color without being too overpowering, and I think it works really well, especially against black. The cut out shoes are a little bit different and can be worn either with coloured socks of just bare skin. If anyone follows me on the Tumblr you will already know my unhealthy obsession with round sunglasses. These retro 60's style, oversized round sunglasses are becoming increasingly more popular and I think these Topshop ones look very original. A tip - head to Charity of Vintage shops to pick up the real deals - these are always the best finds. And the black satchel, always works with any outfit.
Outfit 4 Sweater Dress is probably my favorite. I love the laidback, beanie hat, rucksack look, and it's so easy to achieve. I will definitely snap up this Sweater Dress. Don't be fooled - in any store you can always look in the mens section. The guys always have some really cool jumpers, and they will be perfect in achieving this loose baggy look. I would probably also wear this look with bare legs, just to add a feminine touch. The patent chelsea boots are a little bit different, and could be worn with Topshops Lace Frilled Socks which come in a variety of different colours. The rucksack I would just wear over one shoulder rather than across my whole back, to add to the grunge look of this outfit. When the sunshines out, these round glasses will look perfect.
