STUDLAGIL BASALT COLUMN CANYON

I’m so excited to share this location with you because it’s truly one of the most beautiful places in Iceland. The basalt columns are magnificent on the bank of  a glacier river. If you come here, you will be amazed by its raw beauty. There is not much to do here which actually makes this place perfect. Just enjoy nature and take some awesome photos.

REYNISFJARA BLACK SAND BEACH 

Most beaches in Iceland are black but this picturesque beach has become one of Iceland’s most popular venues for weddings, with plenty of space for a ceremony, reception, and to accommodate guests in style. The dramatic views over the unique rocky formations and the ocean make this a perfect location for photos. It is also perfect for an intimate ceremony, with stunning scenery that will leave lasting memories.

HRAUNFOSSAR WATERFALLS

Hraunfossar are small waterfalls fed by underground rivers that flow from beneath Langjökull Glacier. These falls are popular amongst photographers for their beauty and accessibility during all seasons of the year. JOKULSARLON GLACIER LAGOON

Jökulsárlón translates to glacial river lagoon (also known as Jokulsarlon) is a magnificent glacial lagoon with vibrant blue icebergs and a black sand beach. The lagoon is created by Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, which is the second largest in Iceland. In this location you can see the lagoon, the beach with the black sand, and even a beach called Diamond beach, where the icebergs get washed up when the tide comes back in. KIRKJUFELLSFOSS

Kirkjufellfoss is a breathtaking waterfall with a view of Kirkjufell mountain (known as Church Mountain), one of Iceland’s most famous landmarks. This unique and photogenic spot is located in Grundarfjörður on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Due to its beautiful surroundings and soft light, this location is perfect for both bridal portraits and wedding ceremonies. DYRHOLAEY SEA CLIFF

The Dyrhólaey archipelago is a stretch of black-sand beach and rugged cliffs located on the south coast of Iceland. Dyrhólaey sea cliff is an arched rock formation at the end of the so-called endless black beach. There is also a breathtaking viewpoint on top of the cliffs with beautiful panoramic views.

CRASHED AIRPLANE

This plane wreck is one of the most popular destinations for photographers and tourists in Iceland. The plane crashed in 1973 on the southern coast of the island with everyone on board surviving the crash. It’s a little tough to find and involves a bit of walking, but it’s well worth the effort if you’re after some unusual wedding photos.

GLJUFRABUI

Gljúfrafoss or Gljúfrabúi (Canyon Falls) is a very unique waterfall that is inside a green-colored moss-covered cave. It is near Seljalandsfoss on the South Coast of Iceland. It takes quite a lot of effort to get inside the cave but the views will be very rewarding.

ICELAND LAVA FIELDS

Iceland’s lava fields are created when volcanic eruptions take place, leaving behind large lava rocks that have cooled and hardened. Skúgafoss is one of the largest local waterfalls that has a width of 25 meters and a drop of 60 meters. This waterfall allows you to get pretty close which can result in some spectacular wedding photos.

The Arctic Henge is magical and a very unique place in the northeast of Iceland. The stone arches create a very interesting background for photos. The place reminds us of a very famous place in England called Stonehenge.
