This is the simplest way I find to cook basmati rice, which I will share with you. I’ve included some pictures to help demonstrate the method.
· Rinse rice well with cold water until water runs clear (removing excess starch)· Place washed rice into saucepan · Fill with cold water to about an inch above the line of where the rice is (this works for however much rice you have in pan)· Add a little salt if you like at this stage, although I tend not too (to be healthier and find you soon get use to eating things without it)

· Turn of hob and bring rice to the boil under a medium to hot heat· After about 5-7mins the water should start to evaporate and once the water in looking like its greatly evaporated and you can see a few bubbles and lots of dimples, simply turn off the heat but keep on the hotplate and place lid on saucepanDimples
· Leave the rice to steam cook for about 10-15mins, and give a quick stir just before ready to serveSteaming with lid on
