Sorsogon is a province located in the Bicol region. It is the southernmost province of Luzon. It is home to many different attractions for all sorts of travelers. The province has beaches, rock formations, traditional houses, delicious food, and cultural attractions.
I had the chance to return to Sorsogon after several years. Here are some of the top things to do in Sorsogon.
Bulusan Lake
Bulusan Lake is a noteworth addition to your itinerary for things to do in Sorsogon. This lake is a nice place to just chill and enjoy nature. You can rent a kayak or a boat to go to different places around the lake. There are structures where you can sit and just hang out. The park has undergone extensive development over the years. There are now shuttles that can take you directly to the lake. There is also a tourist center where you pay the fees and buy souvenirs.
Bulusan Lake Fees:
- Protected Area: P50 adults, P25 students with valid ID
- Environmental Fee: P10
- Shuttle: P35 round trip
- Eco-guides: P150 per hour
- Kayak: P100 per 30 minutes
- Boating: P600 per 5 persons
- Fishing: P20
- Stand Up Paddling: P200 per 30 minutes

Subic Beach
Subic Beach is a great destination to add to your Sorsogon itinerary. The pinkish, white sand is fine and the waters crystal clear. This area has become more developed since the last time I was here. Our group took photos and videos, and dipped into the cool waters.
*You can rent a bout for P2500-P3500 for island hopping (Subic Beach, Tikling Island, and Juag Lagoon).
Juag Lagoon
Juag Lagoon is one of the stops whenever you go island hopping in Matnog. The lagoon is home to different kinds of fish you can feed. The lagoon strictly follows the no use of sunblock rule when dipping into its waters.
Traditional Houses of Juban
Juban is home to some traditional houses or bahay na bato. The most popular house is Casa Feliz. The interior of Casa Feliz is atmospheric with old, wooden furniture. Our host provided us with local food from Sorsogon. She talked about the history of the house and its current state as a bed and breakfast. The house is decades old but is in good condition. You can spend the night at Casa Feliz starting at P200 per person.
Museo Sorsogon
One of the things to do in Sorsogon is visit the museum. This museum used to be a prisony, fast forward to today, you can find information, displays and dioramas about the important events, people and attractions of the province,
Buhatan River Cruise
Go on a relaxing cruise along the Buhatan River. During the cruise, you'll see some birds and mangroves. You have the option to have food served or jus tthe cruise when you visit.

The Pili Haven
Located in Irosin, The Pili Haven is a place where you can relax and unwind, and fill your bellies with good food. This destination has a serene ambiance and spots where you can take good pictures. You can try some of their pili products during your visit.

Kambal Busay
You can chase waterfalls during your trip around Sorsogon. Kambal Busay is located in Zoe's Resort. It is a short walk from the resort. This stop was a highlight during our trip.

Hidden Falls is just a short walk from Kambal Busay. It's not as spectacular, but still worth a look while in Zoe's Resort.

Whale Shark Interaction
One of the most popular things to do in Sorsogon is the whale shark interaction tour. Donsol's tourism officials want visitors to see the whale sharks ethically without disrupting their natural feeding habits. A trip here doesn't 100% guarantee a sighting, but once you get to swim with the whale sharks, it will be one of the most memorable experiences you'll have in Sorsogon.

St. Michael the Archangel Parish
This old church is one of the jubilee churches located in the province.
Corsiga Bulan Organic Vinegar Refinery
Learn more about the process of refining vinegar with a stop here. You can also buy locally made products during your visit.
Gibalon Shrine
The location of this shrine is believed to be the site where the first mass in Luzon took place. The mass was held in 1569. The Spaniards were sent to pacify, evangelize and explore the southern part of Luzon.
Sorsogon has a mix of everything you might be looking for in a destination. There are natural, cultural, and historic attractions to fill your itinerary. The food is also delicious.
