By Ripleydaniels @mikesobol

These days, more and more people are willing to journey further in order to get to an ideal place in which to spend their precious vacation days. Of course, the goal for many who are searching for that prime vacation spot is to find a place that meets a wide selection of criteria. For example, most people want to relax on vacation while also being able to enjoy nature as well as rich culture, fine cuisine and adventurous excursions. And while there are many places in the world that offer all of these things, few do so more completely than one country: South Africa.

There are good reasons why more and more people are discovering the joys of South Africa each and every year. Indeed, their tourism industry is booming. Here are just a few of the main reasons people are flocking in droves to take it all in.

Affordability

There are few places that offer such an abundance of sights and activities at such budget prices as South Africa. Tourists from many countries can take advantage of the attractive exchange rates and low prices on offer. It’s true that many who can’t afford a bit of luxury at home can do so in this beautiful country by taking advantage of cheap prices on upscale hotels and restaurants.

Tip: those who truly want to take advantage of everything South Africa has to offer should do so in April, when springtime in in full bloom.

Natural wonders

South Africa, of course, is famous for a couple of things, one of which is its natural beauty. Visitors to this country can hike to the top of the iconic Table Mountain, South Africa’s 3500-foot landmark. From the top of Table Mountain, visitors are treated to panoramic views of Cape Town, Table Bay and Robben Island.

Abundant wildlife

The other thing South Africa is famous for is the fact it is teeming with wildlife. There are plenty of exciting safari packages on offer in this country that deliver all manner of thrills by allowing visitors to view these majestic animals in their natural habitat. Kruger National Park, for example, is one such famous and sprawling locale that offers wildlife tours as well as lodgings to accommodate most budgets.

Exciting excursions

There are many excursions available in South Africa geared for both excitement and relaxation. Here are a few:

Whale watching: visitors can make their way a few hours outside of Cape Town to Hermanus where migrating whales pass by on a regular basis.
Wine tasting: South Africa is well known in the world of wine and even produces a few signature varietals such as pinotage -- a mix of pinot noir and cisnaut. Many vineyards throughout the country offer tours and tastings.
Robben Island: visitors can take a day trip out to Robben Island from Cape Town in order to tour the famous prison where Nelson Mandela spent so many years. They can also take in the various seabirds and marine mammals on offer, like the Cape Fur Seal and the Heaviside dolphin.

These are just a few reasons to discover South Africa. And while all of the country’s natural beauty, rich culture and unique wildlife will be available for many years to come, it’s best to make the trip while all of this beauty remains relatively untouched.
