We all stick to the CTM aka Cleansing, Toning, and Moisturizing skincare routine, but for a perfect skin it is important to add the E in CTM, that is Exfoliation! Exfoliating the skin not only sloughs the dead skin cells, but even helps in regenerating healthy and new skin cells, thereby clearing the skin imperfections over a period of time. It is best to exfoliate the skin twice-thrice a week and before you indulge in any face scrub, find out what skin type you are and what are your skin woes. I have listed the top homemade face scrub for each skin issue and skin type, do take a look:1. Honey and brown sugar face scrub for blackheads:
Due to my travel schedules, my skin often gets prone to blackheads and I totally dislike it. After trying charcoal powder, rhassoul clay and much more, I can guarantee that honey and brown sugar work super effectively to remove blackheads. I have been using this for months and organic honey has made my skin free from blackheads. How to make the scrub:Take one teaspoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, if you don’t have brown sugar add any sugar for exfoliation. Apply this paste on your face and then gently scrub your face in circular motion. Leave for 10 minutes and rinse with water! Do this twice a week!Tip- you can skip the sugar and just apply honey daily on your face to remove blackheads. 2. Oatmeal and yogurt for soft and oil free skin:
I have tried this face scrub only a couple of times and indeed I was impressed with the way it made my skin super soft. Oats is a mild Exfoliator that will cleanse your skin of dead skin cells and absorb the excess oil from your skin. Whereas the lactic acid in yogurt will brighten your skin instantly, soften your skin and cleanse the face completely.
How to make the scrub:Mix 1 tablespoon of oatmeal with 1 tablespoon of yogurt and apply it over your face, gently scrub for 2-3 minutes and rinse with cool water. Apply this face scrub weekly thrice. Tip- if you have dry skin, then use oatmeal with olive oil and get the super soft skin. 3. Green tea and ground rice and honey for oily skin:
Shiny, oily skin can look dull and cause acne easily. So if you have oily skin, then this face scrub is a must try. Green tea will prevent excess sebum, unclog the pores, fight against bacteria, whereas ground rice will act as a gentle exfoliate and honey will clear your skin from acne, bacteria plus moisturize it.
How to make the scrub:Extract green tea from the green tea bag and then add to it 1 tablespoon of ground rice with 1 teaspoon of honey and apply it to your face. Scrub your face in circular motion and rinse with cool water.
4. Cinnamon, sugar and honey for acne prone skin:
If you have sensitive skin or skin that is often prone to acne then this face scrub will be a magic to your skin. Cinnamon and honey are excellent ingredients that have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that will keep acne at bay. Also, it is best to use this as a spot treatment too.
How to make the scrub:Take ½ teaspoon of cinnamon powder and mix it with equal parts of sugar and honey. Scrub your face with this mixture and cleanse with cool water. Cinnamon can give a tingling sensation, so add only a pinch of it. Use it once a week. 5. Coconut oil, coffee for dry skin:
The main concern of every dry skin beauty is dehydrated, dull and flaky skin. So the best scrub that would hydrate and brighten your skin is the coconut oil and grounded coffee face scrub. Coconut oil is the holy grail for dry skin, it will provide the right moisture to the skin and will penetrate deep into the skin, replenishing it. Coffee is an excellent exfoliator that will throw away the dead skin cells, fight free radicals and keep signs of aging at bay.
How to make the scrub:Take 1 teaspoon of grounded coffee and mix it with coconut oil, apply it on your face and leave it for a while. Then scrub your face in circular motion and rinse with cool water. Do this 2-3 times a week. I hope this post helps you bid goodbye to your skin problems. Do scrub your face twice a week and stay beautiful forever.
