If you love to fish you might plan your vacations and trips around where you might have the best fishing experiences. There are so many incredible fishing destinations in the world that it can be hard to choose. Also, check out how to catch fish at night

This guide will help narrow the choice down to 5 top fishing trip travel destinations. I've had the pleasure of enjoying many different fishing trips in my lifetime and these are some of my favorites. I hope you will enjoy them as well.

Key West, Florida

Key West offers fishing grounds for just about every style of fishing. If you've never been to this beautiful area you are surely missing out. With world-class fishing locales, breath-taking reefs, and clear blue waters, anglers really can't go wrong. Learn more about the best river sailing tips

The area almost caters to the fishing life just as much as the tourist life. You can find any number of guides and charters available almost any time of the year.

Not only is the fishing great but there are wonderful places to stay, fantastic restaurants and plenty to do while you are there.

Homer, Alaska

If you want a fishing destination that is stunning and unique, head on over to Homer, Alaska. Alaska is one of the ultimate fishing hubs in North America and it's a once-in-a-lifetime type of fishing trip that you definitely will not regret. The location is all about the scenery. It's not some amped-up tourist location so you get a nice getaway and some enjoyable fishing. There will be plenty of other wildlife that you can see while you are there.

You will have ideal fishing access to salmon in particular here but you might also have the opportunity to catch cod, rockfish, and even halibut as well. Depending on the time of year you might find yourself ice fishing - Alaska has some of the most premier ice fishing in the world. Make sure to bring your best fish finder for ice fishing to maximize how many fish you catch.

This is both an escape and an adventure.

Prince Edward Island, Canada

Travel over to Canada and enjoy Prince Edward Island in the Nova Scotia area. This area boasts the world record for the largest Bluefin tuna caught - or at least it did in 1979 when the 1,496-pound Bluefin was caught there. There have been numerous reports of snagging fish near this size there since then as well.

Get ready for hardcore fishing that tackles 800+ pound fish rather than your small trout and salmon catches. If you fish here, be ready for a reeling fight. Most of the local boats have fighting chairs and gear for the occasion.

You don't want to miss this incredible experience.

Malindi, Kenya

This is one of the ultimate fishing dream trips for any angler. Malindi, Kenya offers the place for your fishing dreams and goals to come true and the experience is phenomenal. If you've ever heard of a billfish royal slam or fantasy slam, this is the location to go for it. A fantasy slam means that the angler catches 5 different species of billfish in one day. It's been done many times here.

You will have access to some of the most exciting fish to catch, including blue marlin, swordfish, sailfish, striped marlin, short bill spearfish, and black marlin. If you've never been on an experience like this, I recommend hooking up with a crew or a charter for the best experience.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Treat yourself to a beach vacation and a fishing trip all in one. This might be your excuse to take the whole family. You enjoy the fishing and they can enjoy the beach and other tourist locations. One of the beauties of this fishing location is you don't have to travel out far to get your line in the water.

There is quite a variety of fish out there. From dorado, wahoo, sails, and marlin you won't be disappointed with your catch. This location is fishable all year but some of the fish are better in different seasons. The water is clear blue and gorgeous.
